Doug Folland,
DVM, Diplomate, ABVP – Avian Specialty
Dr Doug Folland is the owner and chief Veterinarian of Parrish Creek.
He has loved animals and enjoyed pets of various types most of his
life. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1983. In 2008 he
became board certified by the American Board of Veterinary
Practitioners as an Avian Specialist. At home there is a cat, 25
Chickens, 6 children and a wife. His hobbies include gardening, canyoneering, ice climbing and playing sports with his kids.

M. Scott Echols, DVM |

M. Scott Echols,
DVM, Dipl ABVP (Avian Practice)
Dr Echols has been an animal lover since a child and has worked with
or cared for many species of companion, private collection,
endangered, wildlife and zoo animals. Scott, his wife Layle (also a
veterinarian) and their daughter Alaina share their home with
several animals including Italian greyhounds, a cat and an African
grey parrot. He graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary
Medicine in 1995 and completed a residency in bird medicine and
surgery from the Medical Center for Birds in Oakley, California in
1999. In addition to being a frequent internationally recognized
author and lecturer, Dr Echols has been awarded the TJ Lafeber
International Avian Practitioner of the Year and Texas
Non-Traditional Species Practitioner of the Year awards. Dr Echols
serves as an Adjunct Professor for Texas A&M College of Veterinary
Medicine as well as a Visiting Professor for many universities in
the US and abroad. Dr Echols co-founded Mobile Avian Surgical
Services to help meet consultation and surgery needs of bird and
exotic animal patients throughout the US. His company Avian Studios
( www.avianstudios.com )
was formed to create digital media that helps caretakers improve the
lives of captive birds. Dr Echols is a past president of the
Association of Avian Veterinarians, a scientific reviewer for
medical papers and has worked with numerous veterinary organizations
in different capacities.
While Dr Echols works internationally, he and his family live in
Utah and he most frequently works at Parrish Creek Veterinary
Clinic.

Crystal
|
|
Crystal has been with us since 1997, first as a
receptionist and then technician. She has exceptional technical
skills and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She has a zoology degree from WSU. Crystal loves working
with all of the many and varied pet species we see at Parrish
Creek. She is married and has a boy and a girl along with a dog,
Cerberus. All of her other pets actually belong to our clients!

Dean
|
|
Dean earned his bachelor's degree in
sociology from the University of Utah and did human services work
for many years. He has finished a degree in veterinary technology
from Utah Career College. Always interested in animal behavior
and learning, he is a member of the Society of Veterinary
Behavior Technicians. He and his wife Debbie live in Tooele and
have three children, three grandchildren, a dog, a cat, and a
goldfish.

Rachael |
Rachael is a
receptionist and has been with the clinic for a large portion of her
life. Growing up with animals has been a real treat for her. In the
past, she has owned a standard poodle and three cats. Currently, she
cares for her Maltese/Shih Tzu, Delilah and loves her very much.
Outside of the clinic she enjoys: camping, hiking, canyoneering,
cooking, dancing, writing, movies, and traveling. She is a student
at Salt Lake Community College.

Mandy
|
|
Mandy is a graduate of Utah
Career College with a degree in veterinary technology.
She has a
particular passion for birds and bird behavior.
She has 3 dogs, 5
chinchillas, a cat, an English Budgie and several snakes.
